Atomic habits + Slime garden, Rich Media, and Billing V2

3 min read T Tim

Three things this week. The theme: make Slima warmer.

Atomic habits + Slime garden

We’re excited to announce — Slime now has a home of its own.

The new Slime garden is Slima’s gamification system:

  • 🌱 Write today → your slime gets happier; the garden grows a plant or a new slime companion
  • 🌳 Streak the writing → unlock rare plants, special slime variants
  • 💤 Skip a day or twono penalty (no death, no decay), the slime just “misses you”
  • ✈️ Vacation mode — flag “I’m traveling this week,” the garden enters standby

We chose positive reinforcement (reward streaks) over negative punishment (lose streaks) because the days you can’t write are already hard enough. The tool shouldn’t add pressure.

Access path: bottom-right Slime icon → Garden.

The design draws on the Atomic Habits “compound effect” — a little every day beats occasional bursts.

Rich Media

You can now embed images, videos, PDFs, and external links in your draft and preview them right in the editor.

Type Support
Images jpg / png / webp / gif (drag-drop upload to cloud storage)
Videos YouTube / Vimeo embedded preview
PDFs Two import modes — “convert to Markdown” or “keep PDF embedded”
Links Auto-generated Open Graph preview cards

Special handling: Chinese PDF vertical-page-numbering issues + Chinese-font CMap tables — two of the most common pain points for Chinese researchers and academic writers, fixed in this release.

Billing V2 — transparency upgrade

A major billing-system rework:

  • Credits split into “report quotas + AI conversation counts” dual-track
  • Per-tier limits get more granular (monthly / weekly / daily caps)
  • Overage billing made transparent — see “this chat costs ~$0.05” in real time
  • Free plan limits disclosed more clearly

Subscription page, checkout flow, and Account → Billing page all updated to match.

Next week

Script Studio launches — Slima becomes a two-studio product.
