Stripe refunds and the Writing Journey V4 dashboard

2 min read T Tim

This week we shipped some unglamorous-but-important things — refund flow and dashboard rewrites.

Stripe refund handling

A full Stripe refund flow is now live:

  • Cancel a subscription mid-cycle — pro-rated refund available
  • Credit pack refunds — unused portion refunded proportionally
  • Subscription state and credit balance sync automatically with the refund

Access path: Account → Billing → Refund Request.

We chose a real refund flow over store credit because the relationship between writers and Slima should be honest — if you want to leave, we shouldn’t trap your money.

Writing Journey V4 — dashboard rewrite

Writing Journey is Slima’s other dashboard (complementary to Insight Cards), focused on how your relationship with your book evolves over time — not on the current numbers.

V4 brings:

  • Timeline view — your book’s commit history rendered as a visual timeline; see “the day you wrote fluently,” “the week you stalled”
  • Inflection markers — automatic detection of major rhythm shifts (e.g. seven-day high productivity then a sudden stop), so you can trace what happened
  • Chapter length evolution — how many revisions did this chapter go through, and how did the word count change each time?
  • Character spotlight timeline — the shift from protagonist A to protagonist B’s screen time, in one chart

Next week

Slima Desktop arrives — native apps for Mac, Windows, and Linux.
