Series settings: metadata shared by the whole work

قراءة 4 دقيقة

Series is the top of Script Studio's 4-level hierarchy (Series → Season → Episode → Scene). Series settings are the metadata shared by the entire work.

Slima Script Studio Plan view: Series Info contains Title / Author / Type plus other planning fields

Series = the book

Each script book = one Series. Slima creates the Series root when you make the book.

Configuring Series properties = configuring the whole work's metadata.

Editable fields

In Plan view → Planning tab:

Field Use Required
Title The work's title
Author Your name
Type Film / TV Series / Short / Micro Drama (pick one)
Format TW or Hollywood; affects format detection (set at create time, switchable later)
Logline One-two sentences
Concept Longer narrative summary
Target Audience Who you write for
Synopsis Per-season / overall direction

Changing Type effects

Change Effect
Film → TV Series Lets you add multiple seasons / episodes; Scene Board shows Season toggle
TV Series → Film Slima won't auto-merge multiple seasons; best decided at create time
Changing Type doesn't touch scene content Your dialogue / scene description is untouched

Format change effects (TW vs Hollywood)

In Write view → the format toggle flips instantly — content re-renders with the new format (scene heading, character name indent, etc.).

Series-level vs Season / Episode-level metadata

  • Series: title, author, logline, overall synopsis, target audience
  • Season: season-level logline, theme, episode count
  • Episode: episode title, summary, scene count, word count
