My Screenplays: where your old work is, and how to open it again

In one line: this page tells you which shelf your old screenplays sit on, and how to open one again.

Taken before the migration notice shipped, so the notice at the top of the page is missing, and the New Screenplay and Import script file buttons under the title are gone now. Everything else is as you will find it.

Where the entry is

In the navigation bar: Switch Studio → Script Studio. The address is /script_studio/books.

The entry only appears if the account still owns at least one screenplay. Archived ones count, and so do ones sitting in the trash. With none at all, Script Studio is simply not in the Switch Studio menu. That is deliberate, not a fault. On a machine you have just signed in on, the entry can also take a few seconds to show up while the cloud book list syncs.

What the page looks like now

A migration notice sits at the top. It has no dismiss button and it stays.

The row of buttons under the title has changed. New Screenplay and Import script file are gone; in their place is a short line of text and a link to the Writing Studio to start a new book. Batch Export survives — it appears at desktop width and lets you tick several books and pack them into backups in one go.

Continue Writing is still directly under the title and takes you back to the book you last touched. The motivation card in the top right shares one writing record with the Writing Studio, so words written on either side count.

Same idea, two vocabularies. The old studio's wording was never brought into line, and it has not been changed since.

What the numbers on a card mean

Top to bottom: a format badge (Taiwan or Hollywood), the title, then N scenes · M characters · word count, then when you last edited it. The small dot in the corner is sync status. Hover the card and a ⋯ button appears.

Clicking the card opens the book, landing you in the Plan view.

What is still inside

Nothing was taken out of a project. The six Plan tabs, the scene board, the script editor, notes, the outline, delivery and export, share links — all of it still works.

The one thing that is gone is the AI. The old studio's coach panel has been removed outright: the right-hand rail now offers stats, notes and outline only, and on the Plan tab it offers nothing. Chats you had with the coach are still stored, but they are no longer shown anywhere in the app. There is nothing to wait for and nothing to look for.

When a screenplay seems to be missing, check these three in order

  1. The Completed tab. An archived book does not stay under Works.
  2. The Trash tab. A deleted book waits there for 60 days with a Restore button on it.
    The delete dialog in the old studio still says 30 days; that line was never updated. The retention is 60, the same as on the Writing Studio shelf.
  3. An empty shelf. You get a button through to the Writing Studio, and if anything is still in the trash, a second line underneath offers to take you there.

If Script Studio is not even in the Switch Studio menu, this account genuinely holds no screenplays at all, archived and trashed included. Worth checking you are signed in as the right person before you go looking further.
