Schedule account deletion
Leaving Slima? The deletion flow is deliberately reversible — a 30-day cooling-off period before anything is actually erased; cancel any time in between.

How to delete
Account → Danger Zone → "Delete account"
A warning dialog appears:
You're about to schedule account deletion. After 30 days, the following are permanently erased:
- N books + all version history
- All AI Coach conversations
- All AI Beta Reader reports
- Subscription (if any — cancels immediately)
- API tokens
⚠️ Strongly recommend exporting your data first
[Export my data] [Cancel] [I understand, confirm delete]
After "Confirm delete", the account enters scheduled-deletion state.
During the 30-day cooling-off
For the 30 days after scheduling deletion:
- You can still sign in — but every action is read-only
- Books are still there — visible, not editable
- Subscription — canceled immediately (no more charges), but the paid plan's benefits remain until the current billing cycle ends
- API tokens — disabled immediately
- AI Coach — unavailable
Change your mind within 30 days
If you reconsider: Account → Danger Zone → "Cancel deletion"
Restored immediately — all data intact, as if you never clicked delete.
After 30 days
Once the timer runs out, the account and all its data are permanently erased:
- Not recoverable
- The same email can re-register (it'll be a fresh account, no old data carried over)
- Subscription / Stripe records are kept for legal compliance, but unlinked from the account
Why 30 days
Industry standard plus GDPR — gives users room to reconsider.
If you have a serious privacy reason and need immediate permanent deletion: use Contact support from inside Slima — handled manually.
Different from cancelling subscription
| Action | Account state | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Cancel subscription | Still there, drops to Free | All preserved |
| Schedule deletion | Gone after 30 days | Erased after 30 days |
If you just want to stop paying: Cancel subscription is enough — account and data both stay.
