Writing Milestones
Each book is tracked against these milestones; the motivation card pops a celebration when you hit one:
| Milestone | Display name | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 5K | Ice Breaker | Opening is solid |
| 20K | Short Form Taking Shape | Mid-section turn |
| 50K | Novella Complete | NaNoWriMo finish line |
| 80K+ | Full-Length Novel | Long-form territory |
The i18n source also defines celebration lines for 1K / 10K / 25K / 75K / 100K — each one is a milestone writers recognize (e.g. "Fifty thousand words. That's the NaNoWriMo finish line.").
Book Progress Ranking
Below — all your books sorted by word count with progress-bar visual comparison.
Estimated Completion (forecast)
When a book has a target word count, Estimated Completion computes an ETA based on your rolling 7-day average:
At your current pace of 350 words per day, your work will be complete in 193 days (2026-11-23).
ETA is checked against your target date:
- Behind → nudge to accelerate
- Ahead → encouragement / suggest raising the goal
Reading signals
- Declining 4-week average → motivation slipping; consider rest or switching books
- Mostly empty heatmap → commitment too aggressive; dial it down
- Multiple weeks above goal → raise the bar
- ETA keeps drifting later → target too big, or pace too slow
